I work mostly with watercolor, mixed media, and collage paintings. My goal is not to copy what I see it is to transmit an essence or mood that is subconsciously recognizable through the viewer’s eyes. I approach my work intuitively and utilize contours that are fluid, loose and flowing. My work has an emphasis on movement, texture, force, energy, dynamic shapes and forms. With each attempt at painting I enjoy discovering something new, it could be a different technique, or unique subject matter, or an accident that works. The process is exciting and makes one grow and improve.
I am a member of Michigan Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society Assoc, Farmington Artists Club, Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, DIA, Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. I am also a member of Lawrence Street Gallery in Ferndale, where my work is always on display.
I have participated in over 75 juried shows, winning awards, and have had over 20 solo shows.
My work is also displayed in private collections throughout Michigan, Arizona, and Florida.
